Child labour

According to the International Labour Organisation (ILO), about 13 million children and adolescents are in child labour in Latin-America.
Child labour is most common in Brazil, Peru, Mexico and Colombia.

According to Maria Arteta, Deputy Director of the Office for Andean countries, the problem of child labour in Latin-America is so widespread in Brazil, Peru, Mexico and Colombia because there are large, indigenous communities. According to her, Latin America has made a lot of efforts to prevent child labour, but there is still work to be done.
