Why did we make a privacy policy?
To be able to inform people well about our work, we collect certain data from you. We find it important to be as open and transparent as possible about this. In light of the new European privacy legislation (the General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR), we want to inform you about the kind of data we collect and what we do with it. What data?
When you contact us, we will save certain contact data such as your name, phone number, address, e-mail address, and other information that you sent us. We do not save any sensitive information.
For what purpose do we use these data?
We only use this data to keep you updated about what happens at Oye LENA throughour newsletter, to inform you about special occasions, to send you drawings from your godchild, etc.
Who will see these data?
This data will only be available to Stefanie Van Erps (project responsible), Sara Defoor (class responsible) and the volunteer coordinator present at that time. The volunteer coordinator is always someone who stays at least 10 months at the project. Volunteers and students at the project do not have access to your data.
Do we share these data with other people?
Our project can give tax certificates through Leraren zonder Grenzen (LzG) to people who support the project financially. Because of this, LzG asks for an operating report every year. This report is also shared with the Belgian government so we’re able to account for the donations and show that they are effectively being used for development aid. This report also includes a list with your data. This list is made after consultation with the government, and the data we received will only be shown to the government at their request.
Oye LENA will never give personal data to other persons or organizations.
How long will we keep your data?
We save your data for 20 years.
Do you want to change or delete your personal data?
At any moment, you can decide to change or delete your data. The only thing you have to do is send an e-mail to contact@oyelenaperu.com with your request. We will respond to you as soon as possible.
